Cycling in the New Territories, Hong Kong.

SONY DSCHaving managed to get a visa for mainland China from Forever Bright Trading Ltd, my Saturday trip to Guangzhou was cancelled so I had a free day in Hong Kong. Cycling in the New Territories seemed a good idea so onto the internet for some research…

I got the MTR to Sha Tin where I hired a bike from Shun Lee Bicycle Company for HK$160 (cheaper bikes were $80), and rode to Sham Chung, a village that can only be accessed by hiking, bike or ferry. The idea was to get ferry back to Ma Lui Shui on the other side of Three Fathoms Cove and then a shortish ride back to the cycle shop, but ferryman was not prepared to take a bike on so had to ride back the way I came. I missed my ferry trip but on the plus side, did more miles!

The Janis Durango Comp I hired. Surprisingly comfortable considering I didn’t have my own saddle or pedals.
